So that we can close this out and to show there was a solve to this issue. I did use what Buzzy offered but the key set has to be rezzed as a presence in your grid (or where ever that NPC is going to be used at) at least the first time. I've not yet tried it in any other grids. But I now have my issue solved - thanks Buzzy.

I added that set of info and she went broke, after resetting the script. I looked at the notecard, saw there was another point 2, so removed the original. No change. She rezzes fine with all attachments, just does not do any movement.

I really am past the basics. I have an npc-Birdy and I have an npc-Beth (which was brought in from another source). They are both in the same box, using the same config notecard. One works but one does not.

No change, I can rez "Birdie" as an example and they go right to work once rezzed. My new NPC rezzes fine but stands there looking dumb and not wanting to do anything. These two (along with others) are in the same SF NPC Controller. Logically they should both work the same.

I have an extended set of NPCs. I have dropped some of them into the latest multi-NPC rez box and hey rez fine. My problem is I am not quite sure how to make them move and interact with the farm. The original set of NPCs that came with the distribution box work exactly as expected (and they are in the same rezzer). Can someone tell me exactly what I need to do to get these to move and interact?
