Question Sensor Distance

I am noticing that Sensor distance does not appear to work consistently for some storage items. Kitchen Storage, Manure Storage seem to all need to have the product right on top of them, no matter how the sensor distance is adjusted.
Apart from resetting scripts I have also replaced storage items with a fresh one from the store, but still having this issue. Resetting scripts have not changed this for me. Anyone else experiencing this?

Hey Krellis
It's not just the sensor distance, but the fact that the number of items which can be found in a sensor sweep is limited (by the simulator / settings, ultimately), usually - by default - to sixteen...
Soooo... for example, if you have like fifty manures and a hay bale following you, there's a good chance the hay storage won't see the bale (on most attempts) at least until you drop a ton of the manure
Cheers,
Mattt.

Yes, the sensor function finds the closest 16 matching items only. For Storage units they scan for all products near them so will find items that are near but not in the storage units inventory. As mentioned the best way is to keep other products away, but if you are like me, I do often collect lots of products in one go, then it's not ideal! I may play with having it scan just for the items it stores, but for a storage unit with a lot of products that might take too long...

Thanks for explaining, Buzzy. It explains what I'm seeing. I can see how having a very small farm space and everything close together is affected by this.

You can wear the pitchfork to scoop up all of them, then do a Transfer all in one go to the manure pile.
